PRIVACY POLICY FOR REGAL: CHESS GAME

 Effective date: October 25, 2026

Regal: Chess Game (the "App") is a chess game for Android published by Vide Apps ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App, its online game server and the third-party services built into it process, why they process it, how long it is kept, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to the App (package name com.videapps.chess) and to the App's online game server. By using the App you acknowledge this policy.

SUMMARY

    • No account, no sign-in. The App does not ask for your email, phone number or real name.

    • Offline play stays on your device. Games against the bot or with a friend on the same phone, your settings and your record are stored on your device only.

    • Online play is optional. If you play a friend online, the nickname you choose and the moves of that game pass through our game server, hosted by Cloudflare. The game room is deleted automatically shortly after the game. There is no chat and no game history kept on the server.

    • Ads. The App is free and shows ads from Google AdMob and Google Ad Manager (Ad Manager ads are arranged by our advertising partner GameADzone). Google collects device identifiers and usage information to show and measure ads, with your consent where the law requires it.

    • No analytics, no crash reporting, no social SDKs.

    • We do not sell your personal information.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

1.1 Information stored only on your device

The App stores the following in its private storage on your device. We do not receive it.

    • Settings: sound, vibration, showing legal moves, coach tips, undo, turning the board on one phone, the timer, the bot level and the color you play against the bot.

    • The player or team names you type for games on one phone (shown only on your device).

    • Your crowns (the in-game coins), hints and the boards and piece sets you have unlocked or chosen, and the day counters behind the daily reward, the free hints and the video rewards. Coins are an in-game reward only: they cannot be bought, sold or exchanged for money or anything outside the App.

    • Your record against the bot (wins, losses and draws for each level) and the number of games you have finished.

    • The game in progress (its moves and clock times), so you can resume it.

    • The nickname you last used for online play.

    • For online play: the code and a secret rejoin token for your current online game, so the App can put you back in your seat after a lost connection or a restart. These are deleted after 30 minutes, or as soon as you leave the game.

    • Timing counters that limit how often ads appear.

    • Your ad-consent choices, stored by Google's consent software.

Android backup: if you have Android backup turned on, your settings, record (including the number of games finished), saved game, player names, online nickname, crowns, hints and unlocked boards and pieces are included in your device's backup (handled by Google) so they can be restored on a new phone. The online game code and rejoin token, the launch-ad timer and the consent records are never included in backups.

This information is deleted when you clear the App's storage or uninstall the App.

1.2 Information sent when you play online with a friend

Online play is used only when you open Play with Friends → Play Online and create or join a game. Playing against the bot or with two players on one phone sends nothing to our server.

When you play online, our game server receives and stores, for that game only:

    • Your nickname (up to 12 characters). It is shown to your opponent. It is optional: if you leave it blank, you appear as "Player 1" or "Player 2". Offensive names are replaced automatically. Please do not use your full real name or other personal details as a nickname.

    • The game: the 6-character game code, the time control, every move, draw offers, resignations, rematch requests, the clocks, and whether each player is connected.

    • A random rejoin token created by the server, so that only your phone can return to your seat.

Your opponent sees your nickname, your moves and whether you are connected. There is no chat, no friend list, no player profile and no matchmaking with strangers: you only play with someone who has your game code.

Invites: if you tap Share Invite, the App opens Android's share sheet with a short message containing the game code and an invite link. You choose the app and the person it goes to. If your friend opens the link in a web browser, our server shows a simple page with the code and a link to the App on Google Play. That page uses no cookies, no scripts and no trackers.

IP address: like any internet service, our hosting provider Cloudflare sees the IP address of your device to carry the connection. The server also counts new connections per IP address for about one minute to stop abuse (for example, someone opening thousands of games). We do not store IP addresses with game data and do not use them to identify you.

How long: a game room, with the nicknames, moves and tokens in it, is deleted automatically when both players have left, or 10 minutes after both players have disconnected. We do not keep a game history, logs of games or player statistics on the server.

1.3 Information collected by Google's ad services

The App shows ads (banners on menus and above the game board, an occasional full-screen ad between games, videos you choose to watch for a reward such as crowns or a hint, and an occasional ad when the App opens or when you return to it) through Google AdMob and Google Ad Manager, using the Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) for consent. These Google services collect information directly from your device, including:

    • device identifiers: the Android advertising ID and the app set ID;

    • your IP address, from which Google may infer an approximate location (city or region level);

    • device and app information, such as the device model, operating system version, language, screen size, app version and network type;

    • ad interactions, such as ads shown, viewed and tapped;

    • diagnostic information about the ads SDK's own performance and errors;

    • on supported Android versions, Privacy Sandbox signals (Topics and attribution reporting);

    • your consent choices.

Google uses this information to show ads, to measure them, to limit how often you see the same ad and to detect fraud and abuse. Where you have consented (or where consent is not required), Google may use it to personalize ads. Google processes this information under its own privacy policy.

Ads from Google Ad Manager are sold for us by our advertising partner GameADzone, a Google Ad Manager channel partner, through Google's Multiple Customer Management program. The App does not contain GameADzone software and sends nothing to GameADzone. GameADzone receives ad performance reports from Google (such as impressions and earnings for the App), not information about you.

1.4 Information collected by Firebase Remote Config

The App uses Google Firebase Remote Config to load settings that control ads (for example whether a format is on, how often it may appear, and which ad units it uses), so we can change them without publishing an update. To deliver these settings, Firebase receives a random Firebase installation ID, your IP address and basic app and device information (such as the app version, operating system version and language). Remote Config is not used for analytics or advertising.

1.5 Information we do NOT collect

The App does not collect or ask for:

    • your email address, phone number, postal address or real name;

    • an account, password or sign-in (there is no Google sign-in or other login);

    • contacts, photos, videos, audio, files or documents;

    • precise location (GPS);

    • camera or microphone access;

    • payment information (the App has no in-app purchases);

    • health, financial or other sensitive information;

    • messages or chat (there is no chat);

    • web browsing history or the list of apps installed on your device.

The App contains no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK and no social-media SDK.

2. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES AND SDKS

The following third parties process information in connection with the App. Their own privacy policies apply to their processing:

    • Google AdMob, Google Ad Manager, Google Mobile Ads SDK and User Messaging Platform (Google LLC): ads and ad consent. Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy How Google uses information from apps that use its services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites

    • GameADzone (gameadzone.com): our advertising partner for Google Ad Manager. It receives ad performance reports from Google, not information from the App or your device. Website: https://web.gameadzone.com/

    • Google Firebase Remote Config (Google LLC): ad settings. Firebase privacy information: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy

    • Cloudflare, Inc.: hosting of our online game server (Cloudflare Workers and Durable Objects). Cloudflare acts as our service provider and processes data on our behalf. Privacy Policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/

When you use Share Game (which shares the moves of a game as text) or Share Invite, the text goes to the app you choose in Android's share sheet. That app's own privacy policy applies. We do not receive it.

The App is distributed through Google Play. Google's handling of your Google Play account, downloads and backups is governed by Google's privacy policy.

3. HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We use information only to:

    • Run the game: store your settings, record and saved game on your device, and run online games you create or join.

    • Show ads that keep the App free, limit how often they appear, and let Google measure ads and prevent ad fraud.

    • Change ad settings remotely with Firebase Remote Config.

    • Keep online play safe and working: check every move on the server, protect each seat with a token, replace offensive nicknames, and limit connections per IP address to stop abuse.

    • Answer you when you contact us.

    • Comply with the law.

We do not use your information to make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not build profiles about you. We do not combine online game data with ad data.

Legal bases (European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland):

    • Performance of a contract / providing the service you ask for: storing your games and settings on your device, and processing your nickname and moves for an online game you create or join.

    • Consent: personalized ads and the storing of and access to information on your device for ads, requested through Google's consent form when you first open the App. You can withdraw consent at any time (section 6). Without consent, Google may show non-personalized or limited ads as Google describes in its policies.

    • Legitimate interests: delivering ad settings with Firebase Remote Config, preventing fraud and abuse (such as per-IP connection limits and the nickname filter) and keeping the App secure. We have weighed these interests against your rights; you may object (section 6).

    • Legal obligation: where we must keep or disclose information by law.

4. DATA STORAGE, RETENTION AND PROTECTION

    • On your device: kept until you clear the App's storage or uninstall the App. The online rejoin token and game code are deleted after 30 minutes or when you leave the game.

    • Android backup: kept by Google according to your backup settings.

    • Online game server: each game room is deleted when both players have left, or 10 minutes after both have disconnected. No game history is kept.

    • Abuse-prevention counters (per IP address): about one minute.

    • Google (ads, consent, Remote Config): kept by Google according to its own retention policies.

International transfers: Google and Cloudflare operate worldwide, so information may be processed in the United States and other countries whose data-protection laws differ from yours. Where required, these providers use safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, as described in their policies.

5. DATA SHARING

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for money. Information is disclosed only:

    • to your online opponent: your nickname, your moves and whether you are connected, because you chose to play with them;

    • to our service provider Cloudflare, which hosts the game server for us;

    • to Google, which collects ad-related information directly through its SDKs as described in section 1.3 and processes it under its own policies;

    • when required by law or to protect the rights, safety or security of users, the public or us;

    • in a business transfer: if the App is transferred to another owner, this policy will continue to apply to the information concerned.

U.S. state privacy laws (such as California's): some of these laws may treat the use of the advertising ID by Google for targeted (cross-context behavioral) advertising as "sharing" or "targeted advertising". You can opt out by deleting or resetting your advertising ID or turning off ads personalization in your device settings. Where Google's consent tools offer a U.S. privacy choice, it appears under Settings → Privacy Options in the App.

6. YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS

    • Ad consent: where consent is required, the App shows Privacy Options in Settings. There you can review or change your choice at any time.

    • Advertising ID: delete or reset it, or opt out of ads personalization, in your device's settings (on most devices: Settings → Privacy → Ads, or Settings → Google → Ads).

    • Privacy Sandbox: on supported devices, manage ad topics and measurement in Settings → Security & privacy → Privacy → Ads privacy.

    • Online play is optional: you can play offline only. If you play online, you can use any nickname and you can leave a game at any time (in the game, open the menu and choose Leave Game), which removes you from the room.

    • Delete your data: clear the App's storage or uninstall the App to delete everything stored on your device. Online game rooms delete themselves (section 4). You may also email us to ask us to delete any information we hold. Data held by Google can be managed at https://myaccount.google.com and through the device settings above.

Your rights: depending on where you live (for example in the EEA, the UK, Switzerland or certain U.S. states), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to restrict or object to its processing, to withdraw consent, to opt out of targeted advertising, and not to be treated differently for using these rights. To use them, contact us (section 11). We will reply within the time the law requires (for example, one month under the GDPR). Because we keep very little information and nothing tied to your identity, we may ask for details (such as an online game code) to find it, and we may be unable to locate information that no longer exists. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you may also complain to your local data-protection authority. Where U.S. state law gives you a right to appeal our decision, reply to our answer to request an appeal.

7. DEVICE PERMISSIONS

The App does not show any permission prompts. It declares only these normal permissions:

    • Internet and network state: for online play, ads and Remote Config.

    • Advertising ID (com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID) and Privacy Sandbox ad services (ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_ATTRIBUTION, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_TOPICS): added by the Google Mobile Ads SDK for ads.

The App does not access your camera, microphone, location, contacts, phone, SMS, calendar, photos or files. Vibration feedback uses Android's standard touch feedback and respects your system setting. Games against the bot and on one device work without an internet connection.

8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ads in the App are limited to general-audience content (maximum content rating PG). Online nicknames are filtered for offensive words, and there is no chat. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us and we will delete it.

9. SECURITY

    • Your games and settings are kept in the App's private storage, which other apps cannot read.

    • All network traffic of the App, including online games and Google services, uses encrypted connections (HTTPS/WSS). The App blocks unencrypted connections.

    • The game server checks every move with the chess rules, and each online seat is protected by a long random token.

    • We keep as little information as possible and delete online game data automatically.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect the information the App handles.

10. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App changes or when the law requires it. The new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the App's store listing or in the App.

11. CONTACT US
